  • Recycling real Xmas trees?

Just wondering- for those of you with real tree, what facilities have you available for recycling your tree?
i shall be cutting up our large one and drying it and using it as starter wood for our fire. The other , very small one, I shall leave to die, knock off the needles , spray it white, and hang Easter decorations off it.
    well...that's the plan!!

The council usually pick up any trees left by the bins to recycle them here. I have one in a pot with roots, I try to get this one out in the porch as a half way house to keep it going quite quickly after the big day. The large fresh one that I have for the livingroom also gets used as starter wood. I lay down paper, give it a good shake and wrap up the pine needles.these go straight on the fire to light it. The tree also gets chopped in situ with my loppers and straight in my log basket.

This year the council are asking for them to be chopped up & put in the green bin.

The council collect ours if left outside by the green bin.
When we had real trees, I used to put one of those cheapo plastic Christmas tablecloths on the carpet, with the tree on top, and presents beneath to cover it. It caught all the falling needles and stopped them getting stuck in the pile. Just saying...........

The council takes ours just after 12th night. It's very handy. Otherwise I'd take it to the plot and burn it.

I leave mine by the bird feeders in the garden, they seem to like standing on it & I cut branches off & grow peas up them in the spring,it's a really handy item to have laying around. I've got a little pile of branchless christmas trees behind my shed, beetles & things like it hopefully otherwise it's just a mess behind the shed. Last year I put the big trunk piece in my green bin to be recycled by the council.

I will be shredding it and using it on my blueberry bush. The bigger sections will go on the bonfire.

I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them
