Thanks v much for posting this BM - yes I did see that article and the Lidl one scored really well against the Nutribullet. But I decided to go for the NB in the end... it scored better on smoothness and I didn't fancy my veggie smoothies with lumps in!

Fancy a bread make myself...better to go for the more expensive option do you think?
It is worth researching Jay22, to see what you want. Some have little windows so you can see how the dough is rising etc (I like that). Also some have timers. Some produce only oblong loaves but there are one or two that can give you a round loaf too, which I'll go for I think when my trusty 10 yr old Kenwood finally gives up the ghost.
I gather Panasonic are especially good these days and not too pricey either.
I am a bit of a 'middling' girl when it comes to gadgets and try to buy in the middle of the price range. The odd times when I've gone upmarket it hasn't really been worth it and I've been stung by a cheapo buy once or twice too.
But that's just my philosophy. Actually I think you can be delighted/stung at any price point!

I was looking at the Panasonics today Noosner, they seem to get very good reviews from several places. Will do some more research though before making a decision. Thanks for the info!

We've had our Panasonic for about 9 years, used 2 or 3 times a week since then and the only times we've had duff loaves is when we've forgotten to put one of the ingredients in and even I can't blame the machine for that. A friend of mine had a cheapo one (well know brand but can't remember which) which made bricks so definitely research before you buy, preferably trying the output if you have a friend with the same make.

I have a Panasonic too.- had it over 10 years. Don't use it much now but used to use it a couple of times a week. I can only blame myself if it turns out a dud loaf - there is no Royal We here
As I have not done telly for years n years, it's my only connection to the outside world, being news updates, weather reports, catch up TV, mainly gardening related, research tool, diary, schedules, appointments, contacts, oh and of course the "Vine"
Eldest Daughter invested in a "Bread Machine" and supplies us willingly! Now only being my missus n myself, oh, and youngest, but you hardly ever see her!
But like "Noo's" Invested in a "Nutribullet" as a new year fad! Not used it yet! Haven't had time!
Maybe that's why I need one!

Mine too is the iPad. Ashamed to say I would be lost without it.
I speak with my daughter/Grandaughter 3 or 4 times a week , to see them at the same time us priceless.
Oh, and the dishwasher for obvious reasons
My tablet which takes great photo's.
My sandwich maker which makes lovely ham and cheese toasties.
My washing machine which saves me so much energy, and time.
My microwave which is the "Jack of all trades" in our house.
My blue tooth wireless speaker which allows me listen to my music around the house.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
To be fair OH tends to be the maker of bread in this house but don't want to point fingers

Well BB, the splitter arrived, what a bladdy weight....................managed to fit it to the stand & have tested it on a few logs about 15" Diam, it went through them like butter so up to press I can say I'm well pleased as it's gonna save me a whole lot of work.

Its not a gadget as such but i wish someone would invent a way to make new plastic bags easier to open, even printing "Top" on black bin bags would help, I am always trying to open the bottom. As for opening the top, when you find it, if one edge was crinckled a bit it would prevent the suction seal that hold them
together or is it static? Either way if we can put men on the moon i am sure we can crack this silly problem.
If you take hold of the top with one side edge in each hand and pull your hands apart, to slightly stretch the top edge plastic sideways, the edges will separate enough to get the bag open.
This is particularly effective on those very flimsy bags supermarkets provide at the veg counters, and means you don't need to lick fingers. To me, that seems so unhygienic

Excellent I'm pleased that you're pleased bud Had mine for 2 or 3 years now & not had any problems, my mate tried his hardest to kill it on an oak log about 16" long x 26" diameter, 2 man lift onto the splitter then 1 holding in place (& rotating) & one operating the tool.
