Just checked, at least I don't have to be up too early to take in the sunrise although the actual winter solstice time is in the dark hours!

Same here, Snadger. Solstice at 04.49 but sunrise at 08.16.
What time should I be in the cemetery?............or shall I watch the sunrise from the bedroom window?

A fair variation across the country then. Sunrise here at 8.30.

Not the cemetery VC, but you've got to be outdoors for cripes sakes. Unless you have a lie in and record it for later..........

Just hope its not cloudy or foggy.............................

This is the site I use for sunrise etc Sunrise and sunset times in Cardiff
Do I really have to be outside at 4.49am? There'll be nothing to see at that time?

Just realised it's today and not yesterday!
                          Cloudy here...typical
Nice feeling though that we've finally hit the shortest day though!

I've Just been out with the dogs to watch the sunrise. It was too cloudy but I could see the reflection of the sunrise off the clouds at least. Dogs weren't impressed though cos it was raining.

Now its time for my Christmas ghost story!

Last year at this time I spotted three figures watching the sunrise with me from the edge of a wood 300yds away. What was surprising was that the man, woman and child were all dressed in medieval clothing. After the sunrise they just melted back into the woods. The area they were standing on was where I found a medieval bronze axe head with my metal detector so their must have been a medieval settlement there?
I half expected to see them this morning, but it must have been too wet for them as well!

I think my inner body clock knew about the sunrise because I woke up about 8.15
Forgot I was supposed to look out of the window though
RE the bronze axe head, aren't they much older than medieval - like .......erm, Bronze Age?
