Back to work today, then off again for a few days. Back in New Years Day (Friday & Saturday)

New contract means working five out of seven days each week on single time no matter what days they are to suit employers needs!

Don't particularly like it, but its better than the dole! Luckily I enjoy my job, which helps!

January 5th (12th night) when work starts again and the decorations come down. I agree. Nicos, the house does look bare and sad for a while, but the days are getting longer and spring is on it's way!

There is always a period of emptiness though when all the decorations come down and the house looks so bland and sad.
That's when I need to focus on the the new year ahead and the promise of things to come.
While I love all the decorations and sparkle of Christmas, it's nice to be tidy and ordered again, not having to put cards back up when an open door lets in an unexpected breeze, being able to dust and hoover normally, instead of around an obstacle course.

And then, mainly because I never seem to time the planting of prepared hyacinths correctly to flower for Christmas, for two or three weeks after Christmas the house is filled with the scent of Spring as the bowls of hyacinths finally do their stuff and come out into bloom.

        Endless wonder.
