      • Having three of my grandkids in for lunch this afternoon. Also my daughter.
We had a lovely afternoon playing games and chatting.
Eldest (or oldest) grandaughter went into secondary school in September and had lots to tell us.
Treasured times that seems to be flying by.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

The first daffs of the year are in flower in the garden. I should have plenty by St David's Day.

            • Two reasons to be happy today.

              One - I'm alive.
Two - after rewiring my coffee percolator.....it works!

Explanation - I rarely use the perc, only when I have a few days off work and so spoil myself with the luxury of real coffee. It's a very old electric percolator, but still shiny bright and good. Today the trip switch on the side tripped and it wouldn't start.

Hmmmm.... OK so check the flex - at the plug end and kettle end....unscrew and open up both....

the flex wires are so old the casing is perishing, as I jiggled them, pieces flaked off, right up inside the woven outer cable casing, leaving bare wires!! - yes, they were red, green, black (hangs head in shame)

I am so lucky it has a trip switch and also I habitually plug most kitchen appliances into one of those trip plug thingies as well. And there are trip-outs on fuse boxes these days.

So one trip to DIY store later, old flex off new one on, yay, it works again!

              Endless wonder.

                          • Talking to my Daughter on FaceTime. Her happy ish face was so much nicer than the tearful and emotional one yesterday.
She's off for an interview for a job later on. Hopefully she will get an Oscar for a good performance lol
