      • Hazel those biscuits look divine. I'll gladly go for a run if I can have one when I get back Are the pies cottage? The one in the glass dish looks identical to the one we're having tonight, prepared on Monday. Not sure how I will manage when my Mondays run out!

        • Late clocking in again, naughty me. Almost afraid to say what I've been up to in case Rary gets into trouble but hey Ho tough in Rary .

Rear lounge windows rubbed down and painted. Hand rails on stair washed down. How do they get to be so muckit.

Lifted some laminate flooring at top of stair. When I laid that I removed the skirting laid the laminate under, trimmed the skirting so it was at the same height, job was a good Un. Carpet going back down though so been fitting fillets of wood under the skirtings so they don't have to come off. Had to b*gger about repairing plaster last time and that takes forever.

Repaired the felt roof on my neighbours shed in a spare minute.

Now making a pot of vegetable broth for part of tea.

          Been a buzzzzzzzzzzy bee.

Jeezuz BB, I was nearly throwing up listening to that dribble

For those of us that don't drive but walk/cycle/use public transport to get about - rain, like any other type of weather is just something you put up with - you don't get an Olympic Medal or anything like that.

Despite the 'rain' and having the day off, I went up to the plot. I managed to do a good bit of tidying up, sorting out pallets for future use, pottering about, etc.

Being absolutely soaked through, I managed to find some inner inspiration that motivated me to make my way by Morri$ons on the way home and get a box of wine.

I was going to get a much needed haircut today but I'll have a few glasses of vino tonight and maybe cut it myself.

                • Had a lovely day, went over to our new neighbours for a cuppa and natter and she is such a lovely lady. Luckily she shares a passion for gardening too - admittedly more on the flowers and plants side - but good to know she will be caring for her garden and we can swap tips over the fence

Busy day tomorrow. Got family coming and doing lunch. Friday I hope will be quieter and I might get into the garden again.
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

                  • Back from 'long hills session' - 5 1/2 miles up and down hills in 3deg temp and heavy drizzle. Have put cottage pie in oven. Off for scalding hot bath.

                    *smug.

I'm *smug too because I don't need a scalding hot bath to recover from any exertions, as I've been pottering around the house and garden all day.............and I've eaten my dindins already. The fire's lit, there's a glass of red within reach and a cuddly puppy alongside me. Life's good

                        • Evening all. Had a lovely day with the little GG.
Also had our daughter and the Lesser spotted Grandson for dinner as well.
I swear that boy never stops growing lol
Two loaves have been made today, sent them home with one.
Luckily the flour I use is on offer in Sainsbugs for £1 a bag and I can get 3 loaves out of that. The other costs apart from electric are negligible.
Checked on my chitting spuds and they are coming along beautiful, chitting very slowly.
Just nice to have a bit of piece and quiet to catch up on the vine

                          • I'm smug too...and snug!!
Because I have my 4 year old son nestled into me as he eats marshmallows whilst watching a movie..
Glass of red within reach too VC

                            Although I am getting worried...
Bought a bag of groceries at lunchtime and clipped bottom of bag off the ground, cue a broken bottle of red spilled in the bag
And not 5 mins ago, I clipped one of our good wine glasses off the granite counter...broken glass

Better have a glass before I do any more damage
                            ..
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....
