  • Morning all. It's going to be a nice day today, but I have to go to work and other half is out for the afternoon doing someone a favour.
So, potato planting will now be tomorrow. Looking in the porch, they are chitting for England. Not those long white ones, but proper green and mauve chits.
Also decided not to try and put anything out until we come back from holiday, Mid May.
The temperatures at night should be ok then.
Have a great day everyone, come rain or shine

      • Morning all I'm off out for a "girlie" day today. Meeting my old colege pal and doing a little 'culture' to view an art exhibition....beats shopping

Nicos, lovely news. Very exciting, how many more is she expecting?

        • Come on over to my garden BM. I've a serious nettle problem and I'm not getting far lately...they are all between my rasps and my gooseberries, the bit I can't reach.

          • And a very good morning to you all, whatever your weather.
Me and pooch rather soggy this morning!
Well, the weather forecast has certainly scuppered my plans for today ....
I was going to fill my car with the tubs and bags of garden 'rubbish' (weeds, big stones, roots etc etc ..) that I've dug out over the past week and have a tip trip. Then it was going to be back to digging and refilling said tubs/bags with more rubbish
            ....

Plan 'B' then: transplanting some of my chilli seedlings and sowing some more seeds that came with yesterday's GYO mag (May)

                  • Oh...not sure about how many sheep...it's her first year with sheep and she has about 4 small flocks of different rare breeds.
I think probably about 40 pregnant sheep?
The first lot are due to lamb any day now.
This one was an unexpected pregnancy!

We're going over to help her and her hubby for a week towards the end of this month...when they're sleep deprived!
They also have calves and kids due between now and end of May so they're in for a busy few weeks.
I'll certainly take some piccies to share with you!
Can't wait to do some serious lamb cuddling!

Gotta get a move on, have to leave in an hour...but I know said friend will be late she always wears a watch but I'm sure she's never looked at it once

Precipitating somewhat here at the moment Think I'll burn off some more archtrave & skirting for the hallway until it stops & I might be able to get on with what I meant to do yesterday

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

                            • Managed to get 20 Rooster main crop spuds in. They had chitted really well, didn't take any sprouts off before planting though
Don't think I did last year, anyone got a thought on this.
