Me?.... Well I'm holding the fort here on me own ( well...Hibou is trying to help me) as my OH has rushed over to the UK because his mom is in hospital having had yet another small stroke.

No major plans as yet for the weekend but if weather is good, lots of planting and weeding to be done....Have moved a few more tomatoes into the garage and greenhouse...Frost due tonight, so best remember to cover them with fleece

Nipping into town in a bit, need to buy some more canes and that just happens to be at the garden centre getting some chicken feed and it looks like he has just had 1000´s of baby chicks arrive, might be a new adventure.

We finally have a broody....but won't be around when they hatch so , same as last year, looks like we'll have to forgo our own chicks for a while ( crosses fingers another goes broody when we get back from the UK!)

Morning all, dull today with rain expected later! More or less finished covering the ottoman. It's in two pieces with a cushion on top which doubles as a lid if you know what I mean. Can't quite figure out how to do the corners...too much material and lid won't close, to scared to chopped it all away in case I doing the wrong thing!..

We've got a very black cloud coming over but it's very still - no wind at all and the temperatures are good in the GH.

Can't quite figure out how to do the corners...too much material and lid won't close, to scared to chopped it all away in case I doing the wrong thing!..

Staple one layer of fabric in the corner then cut the excess fabric. Fold the second piece, staple then cut. That's what I used to do, likewise when covering chair seats. That way, you can't cut too far.
