My MIL found out I like salted almonds, so she has been sending me a bag every week. I tired of them and so accumulated quite a few bags. I've just bashed them to bits, melted the left over chocolates from Saturnalia and mixed. Salted almond truffle chocolate anyone? I like messing-about-Mondays
Close VC That particular was is South coast, sadly it's one of the many old coast road sections that is now closed, having been replaced by a nice new inland roadway.
With the new 2 lane motorway getting you from the airport to Funchall in a journey now measured in minutes, not in hours as it was the first time we visited all those years ago. While the new roads have been an improvement for the islanders & to a degree tourists, I miss driving the old roads as to me they were part of the 'charm' of the place, Mrs. BB would differ from that opinion though

Evenin' all, it's a bit blowy here but not really too bad. Managed to fix the bolt on the gate today, hopefully no more nipped fingers for me.
I'm currently in deep fb conversation with a friend about gmo, f1, monsanto and organic gardening. My brain is puckled!
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
Good evening Folks, went out to to the greenhouse for a short time as the wind had died down, but it was a very short time as it has started gusting again, so thought I would come on for a time then get my book out for a read, I have several novels on the kindle to read but still prefer a real book, I wonder if its an age thing, or do you think that maybe the older folk still prefer to read a book, its not just us young ones.
Well I wish You all a good night, and just think the weekend is comeing closer Goodnight

My last visit was pre-motorway. We travelled everywhere on foot and by public bus but I have a vague memory of going under a waterfall in a bus.
Go again gal, it's still a nice friendly place to visit, you might still get a bus under a waterfall if go on the western coast road as that's largely cliff-hanging, anywhere away from the busy south coast is still like the land that time forgot, which is a good thing

Madeira is a beautiful island - happy memories. Even toyed with moving there.
I've lost the urge to travel now though. When I worked I needed 3 holidays abroad a year - just to have something to look forward to. As soon as I left work, I was on holiday all year round. No need to leave home any more. Life's one long holiday
Good Morning Wind seems to have died down a bit, but what a blustery night. Hope all are safe and well. Temperature of 5c belies how cold it feels. Have a good day
