We must be about the only area without the rain, although it is very windy.
I can't give an answer to your question, I only know that my stepdaughter has the pound signs in her eyes. I've improved the house at my expense under a court order from 9 years ago. She is now having another punt at getting me out. No way is any court going to get me out. The dangerous part from my part is that she can afford a solicitor and I'm on my own.

Just be aware that the prospect of money makes people silly and solicitors make their money on conflict.

    • Late Evening All

Been absolutely chucking it down this evening but the wind has eased a little. Got some more tree roots to remove tomorrow so hopefully will be a little dryer tomorrow. I hope you have all had a good Saturday

            • Hello folks, just on to cheer myself up, a very good friend is in hospital, and its not good news, the families have been friends for almost fifty years, since the children were young, and I know at our age news like this is more likly, but it still hurts, we always think we will go on forever, well I will. I am now away to go through the Vine. Goodnight

                • I've just had a catch up too Rary, sorry to hear your news.

I've been a busy bee this week. I was up early for a weekend this morning so the OH took me out for the morning. (Too windy and wet for cycling!!!) we took Stan the dog for a walk and then drove to Marlborough. Popped in a pub for a warm up, had a couple of coffees and waited until they served lunch was a treat not to cook for a change. Boys were starving when I got home and no2 son was off to a fancy dress party...so it was a trip up the attic looking for something to make. Found a few good things and a lovely blonde wig he looked hilarious in it!
Shattered now though, had to cook a couple of cakes too....cake decorating tomorrow

I wish I had your will power! A treat once in a while will do no harm....rhubarb vodka sounds lovely. I've never tried it, blackberry vodka was gorgeous last year so there's none left

The trouble is Scarlet, if I was to buy say a case of beer or a bottle of red wine, I would in all probability .. drink the lot!

                        The rhubarb vodka is lovely!
I imagine its pretty similar method to the blackberry..
add rhubarb to sugar, allow it to draw out the juice, add vodka and a cinnamon stick, fester for a couple of weeks, strain, leave to mature..drink!

My better half insisted on adding lemonade prior to drinking, but I find it ruins the taste!

                          • I wouldn't dilute with lemonade either! I'm going to try that this year, yes some method I used for the blackberry vodka, just never thought about using rhubarb.

                            • It came about through having a huge excess of really tasty rhubarb, once we'd had about 10 rhubarb crumbles, and popped a few kilos in the freeze, it came to googling what to do with rhubarb!
I made a 'cordial' or really thick syrup for putting on ice cream and diluting with water for kids drinks, also really tasty!

I think the finished drink is roughly 25% abv which is very drinkable!

                              • After you strain the fruit from the spirits, pour some white wine over the fruit, and leave that to "fester". It surprising how many times you can keep reusing the same fruit to make a fortified wine!
