  • Morning all! My boys aren't back till tomorrow although they have hockey training this afternoon so hopefully that will get them tiered enough to get to sleep at 10. The b@ggers are up at crazy hours during the holiday. They are a bit old to be told what time to go to bed.
I think I'm going to do a couple of hours in the GH this morning, one of them is a complete mess!

        • It started off bright and sunny here this morning. It won't last, so in a little while I'm going to take down the garden lights. But first a trip to the allotment is in order, just to check things over.

          • Afternoon All. It's been raining here all day. I'm glad in a way because it's made me put Christmas back in it's box. I've roasted a joint of beef and I'm having another life laundry, particularly books, DVDs and CDs. We have charity recycling bins in the car park of the local supermarket so I can drop them off on the way to work. It could take around 4 or 5 trips
One of the secretaries has sent me a text requesting leave tomorrow as both my manager and the supervisor are both off sick today. Glad I didn't know earlier, I would have felt it my duty to go in.
Lovely party yesterday BTW, fit for a princess Roast turkey with all the trimmings, or Chicken Bhuna with all its trimmings, all cooked by my SiL Wonderful.

Feeling much better after that little episode of verbal diarrhoea

Time to patch things up? I argued with my Dad and we didn't speak for years. (Both very similar and stubborn) When he had a stroke and was seriously ill in hospital no-one mentioned it to me for days. My SIL finally came to me and said that everyone thought I wouldn't be interested but she thought as he was dying I would want to know I can't tell you how fast I made it to the hospital, he was too ill to talk to me but over joyed to see me. He pulled through and we haven't ever argued since. What a waste of time that was. She may well need a shoulder....

                    • She is actually my half sister. I have spoken to our brother (my half brother) who says she will be open to a phone call so that's good. Calling her on Wednesday as understandably there are lots of things going on at the moment so we will see how it goes!

Thanks for the advice everyone it's really appreciated.

                          • Good evening Folks, it has been dry here today, hope all you people getting the heave rain fall are ok. was in the greenhouse tidying up,(I will need to watch to see who makes all the mess) its a handy place to have , gives me somewhere to go when OH starts thinking about cleaning out, I have an 8X2 bed in it for veg but I am thinking of taking it out and just use pots for the tomatoes etc. as I am not getting any younger, and the more I have to barrow and shovel the harder it gets, and if I get caught lifting anything heavy, well...... I shall wish You All a good night, I am begining to think she mentions the cleaning just so that she can watch what she wants on the TV Goodnight

                            • Rary, just bear in mind, if you decide to grow in pots only, you will have to keep the tomatoes watered more often as they will dry out quicker.
                              Good luck whatever you decide.
