Was listening to a fox barking during the night....is it mating time for them?

    • Morning all , I think January is the peak month for mating season Nicos. Lovely animals to see but not very welcome when you keep chickens.....

Very happy today, kids are back to school so that means my kitchen stays clean, no open tubs of butter with lids spread far and wide and the milk is in the fridge! bliss

Are you saying these things don't just happen, I wonder how the ones I leave about get back to the fridge
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

        • Morning all, dark and chilly this morning! So tired again as dog was up on and off during the night. Believe it or not it's not the wee one who is ill but the older one! He is turning night into day so guess what...there will be next to no snoozing for him today!
Hope you all have a lovely day!
rary, I think you may have the tidy elf in your house!

          • I'd love a tidy elf! You just wouldn't believe the chaos in no2's bedroom I refuse to clean it but I don't think I can hold out much longer. It's a death trap in there...

            • Morning,

Oh Scarlet i feel for you teenage boys bedrooms are scary think about the amount of plates stuffed under the bed and glasses and cups on the side
Yes i think it is mating season for foxes seen quite a few around here, we sadly found that fox that was on my drive way the other day, it is on a neighbours land on the mountain behind my house......sleeping forever. I do not know what to do with it, its massive must be 20 kilos but i do not want it to slowly rot and attract millions of flies, but i do not fancy moving it.
My house is a pig sty so i really need to spend the day cleaning it top to bottom. meh

              Have a lovely day x
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

              • Oh Scarlet, I feel your frustration. My son was the most untidy person and I spent his teenage years picking up and tidying after him until I got fed up doing it. When he met a girl the penny dropped and he turned into a different person.
His clothes were hung up and he even took control of the iron for a while.
Hang in there, it ill pass.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                • Morning all!

It's tidy-up time now that the daughter has gone home and the son is back at work.

We started a clear-out yesterday, starting with the loft area so that we can move more stuff up there and stash it in such a way we can find things again.

Today we've got a carload of stuff to take down the recycling centre. Hopefully we can do that when it's not raining!

                  Have a nice day everyone.

                  • Morning All.
"Tidy" has a different meaning here, as some of you will know, and has nothing to do with putting your clothes away or clearing the kitchen

                    Tidy
One of the most over-worked Wenglish words, as the following examples show:

                    tidy! - fine splendid
a tidy spell - quite a long time
                    a tidy few - quite a number
a tidy feller - a decent chap, probably 'good with his hands'
a tidy step - back and fore - quite a long way
a tidy swill - a wash involving at least face and hands.
a tidy bit in the bank - plenty of money - especially 'filthy-wealthy'
                    talk tidy! - speak properly

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!
                    Have a good day y'all

                    • Morning all. The kids are at school and peace and calm has entered the house for a bit, well until about 3.15.
I am going to get motivated in a minute and get my monkey nuts planted. Propagator is already out and cleaned ready.

                      • I forgot to say good morning as the "tidy" thread caught my eye. Its lashing rain and as dark as night. Totally and utterly miserable. Plenty to be done indoors but I want to be out.
However I mus'nt complain as we have had lovely weather the last few days.

                        • Good evening Folks, it has been a mixed day here weather wise, I was down in south Ayrshire and it was raining, yet when I came back home it was dry, I see from some of the posts there is something spreading through the Vine, why oh why do women start thinking they need to tidy up when things are quiet, and ofcoarse if there are OHs about they have to help, why cant they just sit and relax and make tea or coffee as required. Well I wish you all a good night, I now have to go and do some reading, as there are two boys wanting a bedtime story. Goodnight
