    • The rain forecast for today hasn't materialised yet. As the crow flies, I'm probably around a mile, maybe less from where the River Don passes through Bucksburn. The water from the river would have to flow uphill to get to us which is just as well because the volume of water in the river today is huge.

I drove out to beside inverurie earlier to see the guy who maintains my machinery for me. There is a railway line behind his workshop and beyond that a field. The field is like a lake which isn't unheard of when there is floodingon the Don but you would think the river had changed route such is the flow of water along the field and that is unheard of.

I couldn't get into Inverurie for a nosey because the police have the bridge over the river closed off
but seeing the river from the A96 it really is a power to behold. We just can't compete with the forces of nature when they decide to remind us who is boss

Strangely, the ecological DIY building merchant is round the corner from there and OH has heard they sell readymade hemp insulation blocks which would be perfect for our lounge as there is no humidity given off.
Lounge?...hmm...looks like the next DIY project is kicking off in his head!

Another 5 should be enough to finish the fence off. Have a good Saturday, hope the weekend drags for all you workers.
