Evening All
I trust you are all in fine fettle? Not been overly busy today apart from a 45 minute wait Iin the post office. Was nice to have a dry, cold day....almost feels like winter! The forecast for my neck of the woods is dry till Tuesday so might get some decent time over the allotment.Last edited by Greenleaves; 13-01-2016, 06:29 PM.

I may have to pop into the rant thread in a mo too - at myself for signing up to the first speedwork course of the year - it's sleety out there and 'orrible, and I'm going to change into my short and T in a mo and go out in it.
The good news is that if the weather is too icy, we can't use the track. The bad news is that we will be doing hill reps instead on the road up from the leisure centre.
I tell reminding myself how righteous I will feel afterwards!

Evening all. Finally got on line tonight.
What a day. Had a cracking frost last night so slipped and skidded on that way up to school. We walk over a bridge to get there it was alright getting on and over the middle but getting off was a bit slippery.
Got home and did some jobs then dinner time I got a phone call to say Han had fallen and hit her head in the playground. They said she was ok but thought we should know before we went to pick her up at the end of the day.
She has a cracking graze and a lump as big as an egg and a badly cut knee. She seems ok but the bruising coming out already. Will be a cracking colour in a couple of days.
Anyway have a good evening everyonesigpic

Spent most of the day sewing, curtains, cushion covers, that sort of thing. Was supposed to take a friend to hospital for a "procedure" (aka minor op). My no.2 son has my car but left his van. The agreement we have is that if he needs the car I can use the van. Put key in lock, opened door, put key in ignition and the alarm goes off. Don't know how I did it but managed to get it to shut up. Rang son's girlfriend as son has done 2 24 hour shifts in a row with 8 hours off in between.
Turns out the immobiliser fob had a flat battery so he swapped it for mine. Had to ring friend and ask her to rearrange her op.
Lit the fire. Although I now have central heating it doesn't extend to the lounge yet and I was cold. This meant going out and finding enough wood small enough to fit in the fireplace. I will have to wield the saw tomorrow.
Had a meeting this evening and am warming myself in my local before I walk the other half of my journey home."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)

Evening folks - jus' colour me smug.
Hideous weather, but we still had a surprisingly high turnout for the speedwork session at the track this evening. The girls at the top and middle end showed up in force (our thoroughbred boys at the top end would not risk injuries in this weather).
And me down in the 'tries hard' end - although I'm not too far adrift now, and even wopped my running buddy's ass on a couple of the repeats. Yo!
It took an exceptionally hot bath to iron the kinks out, mind (or was that down to the fact it is Weds night pub night?)
