  • Good evening,

No snow here. Was raining this morning and then the sun came out, but still freezing. I am just waiting for tea to cook, spicy chicken with rice. Smells lovely

It is integrated into the electrics in the house but has back up batteries which I have renewed with no difference. Thanks in advance.

Bin it Jay, if it's that quiet it's not going to save the lives of you & your loved ones, should, god forbid the worse happen.
All smoke detectors/alarms have a finite working life & it should be marked on the appliance somewhere (probably the baseplate).
Part P of the IEE regulations require that multiple alarms in a single dwelling are interlinked, so that if one alarm is triggered all alarms sound.

      • Thanks BB, just thought as it's wired in it would be easy to rectify. Will buy new ones. Been looking earlier, think wireless interlinked ones look the best!

        • Jay, for what it's worth, when I was working I always fitted Aico, good quality alarms available with either replaceable or built in lith-ion backup battery

Ok - I'll play for a bit . I prefer this though, I must say - there's too much shrieky wailing in your choice.

                • I tell you, you get used to the luxury of having two screens - my pc is backing up (no wonder I don't do it as often as I should - it takes blummin *ages*), so I'm reduced to the lap top.

Hang on, Sweet Dreams has finished - it's lead me to this. Cracking video too.
