    • Mornin Flon'all n'all n'all

You lot having a lie in or busy making snowmen????

OH defrosted our last pack of bacon yesterday so I think we might be having bacon butties today!
      Can't wait!
Strange how you get sudden desires for certain foods isn't it?

I nearly finished all the ironing yesterday... Just 4 more king sized sheets to iron to perfection and then a huuuuge tick on the 'jobs to do list'
Sadly OH has just told me there's another basket piled hip high he'd moved out of the way of the dust.
      I could weep.
      How I hate ironing!
Oh well...fingers crossed there are a few reasonable films on TV over the next couple of days eh?

Does everyone else watch TV...or listen to music...or what? When they're ironing ?
(And yep...I realise most of you don't iron but I have gite bedding and work shirts and curtains to iron properly )

      • Morning Nickernall from a cold frosty Nestland. Would have loved to get out there and finish off the leaf raking but my back is still twinging so I know better than to risk it. Have a good day & wrap up well.

Yes Nicos, I ususlly wait for a wet day to do the ironing and turn on the tv while I am doing it. It helps to pass the time.
Dont think I could bear the thought of ironing on a nice sunny day though.

            • Happy Saggerday Nippy but Nice!
The Tree men are here again and its all action - out there. Nobody up a tree yet.
This is from yesterday. The ash tree in the first photo is 80'-90' and they're hoping to fell it into the garden.

              Have a good day

              • Morning alll!
I don't iron Nicos but I love sleeping in ironed sheets, my Nan used to do it for me ( I had fire duties) but I'm too lazy to do it myself. Now chopping logs, cleaning the flue, and lighting fires - that's a lovely job!

I've been busy for a few days making a cake for a very special friends 18th Birthday. Party was last night. all the hard work paid off for the look on her face when the cake was brought in complete with 18 candles. I was very chuffed.

                  • Great cake Scarlet, I especially like the apples.
I am a sad person who doesn't mind ironing. I usually save up plenty of TV that I'd feel guilty just sitting and watching.
Sunny and cold here. I'm going to venture into the front garden and prune the shrub that is tapping on the front window. It gives me the creeps from time to time, like someone's at the window....

                      Fabulous cake Scarlet...well done!
Nicos, I hate ironing with a vengeance but still do it and yes the TV goes on and so do easy watching things like Midsommer or Marple, Poirot etc...like my detective programmes but the only the 'gentle' ones whilst ironing!
That's a stunning tree VC, why are you taking it down?

                      Have a great day everyone!

Just gone through and lifted the kitchen blind and guess what.....ITS SNOWING!!!

                      • It is/was a stunning tree, but its too close to the house. The house is about 60 feet away from the tree which is 80-90'. Every year, it loses branches in the wind and the ash tree that used to be next to it, blew down years ago. Fortunately it blew away from the house! I'll sleep more easily without it!
Also, it takes a lot of light from the house and garden when its in leaf - and the wood pigeons gather in it and eye up the cabbages.
There are two more huge ash trees at the end of the garden and a couple of massive oaks, so its still a wooded garden rather than a prairie.
On the positive side, there'll be about 10 tons of ash wood for the fire and lots of woodchip for the paths

The Tree men have just gone leaving an ash tree that looks as if its waving two fingers at the neighbours. Tomorrow, it will be felled

The pups think the piles of chippings are great funny and jump on them and run around, scattering chippings everywhere. Here they're watching the action
