  • Anyways, that was a digression or as we say on here a tangentiwhatsit .

Breezy up here with lots of shiney although a few squally showers thrown in. I have a load of washing out so keeping me active taking it out and in.

Been to H*mebase totry to match up paint for the brickwork at the front of the house as neither of us is keen on the paint samples we took home. Looked after by a nice lass called Lisa who although she couldn't help, tried really hard to do so. I'd give her a like for that if I could.

Went from there to local paint producer/wholesaler.(Spe*ncers) Completely different attitude from a more mature woman who couldn't suggest any possible way forward. I'm sure you can imagine the blank not interested face. Anyway, that would have been a not like.

MAybe should have gone to the rant thread withthat and used a few chuffins but hey ho, too early to rant

VC, can't do that as its being delivered by courier and he's bound to be here
I really did buy one in the charity shop a couple of years ago, I think it came from Lids, it was rubbish, so got binned.
This one I paid £40 I think, bargain in my book
Will let you know how I get on with my breadmaking or not.
I liked this model as I can either do it from start to finish or I can take out the dough when it's mixed and make rolls etc.
Anyway, confession is good for the soul they say .....

        That sounds awful AP!

It must have been a while before you had another curry!?

        • Morning All - I'm beginning to like Mondays now I'm taking a few as leave - pretending I work part-time! Had a lie in reading "The Lie Tree" to see if it's a good read for the youngest GG, but it's a bit bland so far. Cushion covers washed and drying inside, it's far too windy to hang them out they'd just blow around the washing line. About to sow some very interesting chilli varieties, thanks Scarlet Hope you're better soon cptn .

            (1) Put in little paddle
            (2) Add ingredients
            (3) switch on
            (4) 3 hours later, take out loaf of bread.

Pay particular to (1) - failure will result in inedible baked brick. Pay particular attention to (2) - especially the yeast - as failure will result in inedible baked brick.

You can guess how I know this.

              • I gave my breadmaker away years ago. Suppose they have improved over the years but do you still get a hole in the bottom of the loaf?

I was on a diet of brown bread sandwiches(no spread) with tomatoes. Animal proteins kept sparking it up again so was veggie for a good while. Never eaten in that Restaurant again that is for sure.

The hole is for storing the paddle, Flo

A guy down the allotment says his bread maker has a pause in the programme, must be when the dough is rising, so he waits until all the mixing is done pops the lid up and takes the mixer blade out. The only hole he has in his bread is from the pin that the mixer blade sits on.

                      • Good afternoon Folks, had a busy weekend two grandsons for a sleepover, and with the high winds on Friday night they couldent get to sleep for the noise so round about midnight they came down to sleep with Gran, and guess who had to go upstairs, I dont know what they were complaining about I never heard a sound, no hearing aid = no sound. Now watching another grandson who is not very well, so off school, his Mom and Gran had to go shopping, so I have to watch him, though he is no bother. Was out at greenhouse to make a propogator, but as there is now a high wind blowing I am quite happy to be in the house. Well I wish you all a good afternoon, and hope those in the path of the winds stay safe, all this talk of bread makers makes me hungery, so off for something to eat. May be back later, bye.

I love my breadmaker but it no longer bakes the bread properly. For some reason only one end cooks so i take the dough out after the hard works done and finish it off in the oven so no hole in the bottom.
