Afternoon All Glad to hear Hibou is safe Nicos x Raining here and quite windy too. I've just been outside and brought some compost in the kitchen to prick out some seedlings for potting on - it's too cold for my bones outside. Caught up with daughter again this morning. She went back to work (phased return) on Tuesday. She's only done 6 hours over two days this week and is absolutely shattered! Such an achievement for her though. She was terrified of going back after such a long time, but all her colleagues were kind so she feels much better now Youngest son has taken his Nan and Granddad suite shopping - now that should be an experience, they're 86 and 89!Granny on the Game in Sheffield

Evening All
After a wonderful but exhausting morning with the grandkids, popped over the plot in the rain to continue the battle with last remaining stump......stump still winning thus far but weakening. Another attack tomorrow and I should be the ascendancy....famous last words.
Home, showered and looking forward to dinner. Picked up the meat order from the butchers on the way home and will have to portion it up later ready for the freezer except the best cut of all.....breast of lamb, that will be tomorrow's dinner

Evening all. Well my sister has been and up and visited. Wont see her again for another 7 weeks due to various work commitments she has and her son getting married in America.
Got a very clear sky again here so could have another frost.

Sad seeing on here grandads having their grand kids over, it´s my grandads 80th today and i have sent a card but have no relationship what so ever, my grandparents are very unlovely and uncaring, never really bother with me (or their son!), even though i am the first out of a lot of grandchildren, seems so sad just the complete opposite to my mums side i wish i could still have my mums dad still around he was a wonderful man but he left many many years ago think 15 years this year. My mums mum is awesome crazy old gal seems this should be in the rant threadI grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

Brought the family out for lunch as its school holidays..Had a lovely time..
Got home and did a load of stuff in the garden as it was a nice day once the rain stopped...
Then had a go at Hazel's biscuits and made a Terry's Chocolate orange cake...all in all a productive dayI dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

Nice one, Trip - lovely hoss. Hope it runs well for you all.
Have you got the recipe for the Terry choc orange cake? Sounds great.
Lovely to see so many peeps baking the abbey crunch biccies - I must tell me sis. Mine don't come out as dark as yours - did you use brown sugar, or have they had an extra few mins in the oven?

I used a mixture of brown and white sugar; they probably appear a bit darker in the photo too..I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

Good evening Folks, have not been on for a day or two, but have poped in now and then, cold and wet here all day so unable to get any work done in the garden, last bit of garden work was on Thursday when I trimmed a Kilmarnock willow for my daughter, I dont thing one of the grandsons is very happy with that as he used it as a den, but I will leave his Mum to explain why she wanted it trimmed, I have been out in the greenhouse sowing some seeds, mostly flowers, I was in Wilcos and bought seeds, three for two, total cost 80p I want to make up some low cost baskets from seed, my other baskets get made up from buying plug plants now and taking cuttings I have several cuttings on the hot bed now. Well I wish you all a good night, I will have to find out if AP will be down this way again this year, as Cardwell G.C. isnt that far away, if so I will keep some jobs for him as he seems to like to keep himself busy and I would be only too happy to help him. Goodnight
ps. I should have added, I will be happy to buy him a drink for doing the work, if he just posts the money to meLast edited by rary; 20-02-2016, 10:28 PM.it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
