            • I am going to have an interesting day too I think...

My work are doing a scheme of giving back to/volunteering in the community around where we are located...
So they were in contact with one of the inner city schools to see if they were interested in anything... Anyways, to cut a long story short, I have volunteered to help the students review their CVs and am today, going up there to conduct "mock" interviews to help them prepare for similar situations in their future..
Many of the kids will be from deprived backgrounds etc so should be interesting to see if we can help them out....

                • Congrats on the new arrival of Bailey

Very foggy start to the day but now the sun has come out which is good. That means my solar lights will be working well later. A quiet weekend and dry I hope as I could do with getting on with some actual gardening. Hope everyone has a good Friday!
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

                  • Sunshine here today at last. Drying the washing off nicely. Just phoned the vets to ask about Percy cat. Yes, the walking disaster area now appears to have broken his tail. I think he did it a few weeks ago but what with one thing and another didn't notice til the other day. Will have to take him in next week but sound like he'll need the end third removing. Fortunately his tail is quite long.

                    • Turned out a beautiful, sunny day today.
                      Grass has been mowed
Chitting potatoes checked, they are doing lovely
As we don't have a greenhouse we have to wait a while before we sow anything. BUT, could I plant a bucket of early spuds now and just bring them in at night?
                      Anybody doing that?
Made 20 birthday cards for the charity shop as well today.
Very productive if you count the £74 trip to Matellens for 2 pairs of leggings.
Somethings must have crept into the trolley lol
Half was hubby's by the way

                      • Afternoon I've spent most of the day between baking bread rolls and being in the garden, not really a good combination but I couldn't waste the sunshine. Like Sally we've given the grass its first cut of the year. plus tidied and weeded the veg beds.

                        • Percy sounds like a handful Wendy

I was going to do some gardening today - honest! But found myself having lunch in the pub with a friend, he dog took one look at Stan and hated him on site he was sent off to stay in the car as he growled non stop. Two course lunch doesn't seem such a good idea now....

                          • Percy is a nightmare. He only has half his fur as well as he has over groomed terribly over the winter. He is terrified of the door bell and visitors especially male ones. His sister is completely different. The difference of nature over nurture.

Poor us! He's not in the least bit bothered! Now he's waiting on the wheelie bin by the living room window, waiting for me to open the window. He couldn't possibly go round and use the cat flap.
