Stuffing a custard doughnut with a cup of tea, eating unhealthy junk comfort food, and building myself up before going off to visit my uncle in hospital. He hasn't been well for some time so it is hard to see him looking so frail.

On the positive front, garden is looking better than ever and still planning out some raised beds when we get a chance to buy what is needed and put it all together. After marking it out on the plot of ground, realised that 4 beds was going to make it too tight to get between each one so now going with 3 instead which will give plenty of room inbetween to walk and crouch down or use a wheelbarrow etc. So looking forward to getting on with that.

Morning all, dull and chilly this morning. Got the gas engineer coming out as the boiler is not firing up. I think after 17 years it's given up the ghost! Oh well it's only going to cost a couple of thousand pounds for a new one! 2016 has been rotten so far...and it's only March!

Good morning everyone

Finally fixing the panels into the greenhouse today, that has been one big undertaking, theres me thinking few hour job!! Stupid un helpful company, i should learn not to use fleebay. Atleast it is up and i can use it soon.
Bought 6 kilos of lovely homegrown organic oranges to make my parents a big batch of marmalade to take home.
Bought a massive tray of onions which i will have to plant out soon, but i do not think it will get done for a few days

Here's a little problem for you to think about and offer a solution!

You throw Bessie the dog's ball for her to fetch, a game she loves. The Ball bounces and goes over the 4' wire fence into the neighbour's garden. The neighbours are not at home.
How do you recover the ball without climbing the fence?

How far away is the ball from the fence? Are there any gaps in the fence? Is it reachable with say a clothes prop to coax it back toward the fence?

Put Bessie over the fence to get her ball then call her back so you can pick her up over again?

I was gunna say that! But as VC's earlier post about not setting foot on their property for what ever reason got me thinking is this because said neighbours have imprgnated their lawn with IED's?
