I was about to type morning but it seems to be afternoon. Doesn't time fly when you are enjoying yourself!!
Now here's a problem so if anyone has any bright ideas let's have them.
we have an extractor fan/cooker hood above the gas hob. Both stainless steel. We replaced our cooker hood a few years back to a bosch which was supposed to be quieter than the one we had previously.(Bummox, it's just as loud.)
Anyway, it is about 25mm(1") less deep than the previous one and there is a gap above the splashback tiles. Tiles were end of range many years ago and cannot be replaced which would have been the easy option.
It's not an even 25mm across, the hood tapers down from that to approx 15mm, 100mm in at each side.
I've looked at aluminium spacers and stainless steel strip on fleabay but don't see anything suitable. too thick, 3 mm is thinnest I can see and I can't move the hood forward as it takes the fixing holes beyond the bottom of the cabinet above.
If anyone has any bright suggestions for filling the gap I'm all ears
Afternoon all, just had a lovely birthday treat of a trip through to Edinburgh, thoroughly enjoyed it but now it's back to auld claes and porridge! Off to catch up on the Vine, hope you are all well.
Afternoon all,
Just got back from a lovely but blustery walk on the beach. Picked up lots of fencing type stuff to make tomato cages this, year. I will be away for a couple of weeks when it will be the main time for staking, so hopefully they will grow up nicely inside these, just need to figure out how to keep them in place. hmmmm
AP, i had a few problems like that and sometimes it is better just to take yourself off to b&q or similar and walk around for an hour and let your brain do some magic. Silver spray pain would be a very lazy way of doing it
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them
My Appraisal went surprisingly well this morning. I had to cancel my dentist appointment because the ward threatened discharge again for my FIL and then guess what? The medication was wrong and the carers weren't in place, so now it's tomorrow. We'll see. He'll be sent home in an ambulance, so Himself will wait with his mother at their house and I will hopefully make my planned hair appointment. In both cases, when cancelling you can't get in for another 4 weeks. Can't do that with my hair, it grows so fast I'll look like an Old English Sheepdog. I know I'm the first two, but I don't want to be all three
Evening all, back from our two day break to Hampshire.
A lovely time was had, the weather was fabulous, just a cardigan needed mostly
The hotel force fed me food, not a salad or healthy veg in sight
Went to Beaulieu on Tuesday, what a lovely few hours out. Reasonably priced as well
Walked my legs off on this trip, which was intentional as I need to get fit for Las Vegas in a months time
So, it's beans on toast for tea, and a trip to Lids tomorrow, to re stock the salads
Oh, and I got my seed tapes - plenty more things to do lol
Had a pretty nice day. Planted a red robin shrub in the front garden and a pink pixie in a container that's sat empty for a while. Front garden's looking not too shabby right now.
Is it me or are there more ladybirds around this year? Last year we saw hardly any in the garden while this year they are all over the shrubs which is great.
Saw the first butterflies in the garden too a yellow Brimstone and two commas.
Hope everyone's had a good day
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.
Been meaning to say Chick that I'm not stalking you, it's just that every morning when I want to post in the Chat Thread from my phone, my finger hits your name (which is just above) and I visit your page - Oops
Oh and thank you for the jiggery pokery with my posts!
