  • Good morning all,
Beautiful day here, my tomato plants are screaming at me to be potted on or planted out, well i do not want the weather to fool me into a false sense that it will be fine. Temperature it will be fine but these dreaded winds will be a problem. But i have no idea when will get chance to pot on so might risk it, give them a good feed and make them last out till beg on April.
I have couple of horrible jobs i have to do today which i really am not looking forward to

    Have a nice day x

    • Good morning and a Happy Easter to all on here from a dull, wet and grey Dublin.
As others have said, the forecast is for a miserable weekend.
We have so much happening here over this weekend as it is the 100th anniversary of The Easter Rising and the city is packed with tourists.
Beautiful sunny day yesterday and I got some more of my Sweetpeas planted out.
Not looking like a pitch and putt day do think it will be gardening in the greenhouse.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

      • Morning all, I won't say good. Think it's been chucking it down all night...the garden has puddles of water on it, and it's still raining. We have taken a leaf out of AP's book and got the paintbrushes out to freshen up the front room. You think your house is clean until you take everything out of a room...I was shocked! So guess what, after the front room we will have to tackle the rest of the house. No rest for the wicked.
Hope you all have a lovely day whatever you have planned.

        • Good morning,

I am so tired this morning. I have things to do but I've just got no energy. Going to just relax on the couch and try and finish off one of my socks I am knitting.

          • Aftenoon all, from a wet and windy Greenock
We are visiting the folks for a couple of nights, back home tomorrow. Managed to have a lovely coffee and catch up with a friend in the garden centre, and she stood holding the tray whilst I pondered over which 6 plants for a tenner I wanted. What I am going to do with the angelica is anybody's guess!
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

            • Afternoon All. Rain stopped play here today. I've just made what seemed like gallons of gravy for dinner at my daughters tomorrow. The eldest Golden Girl requested in a text message asking "Nanny, do you want to be an Angel"? My first answer was "Yes, but not just yet sweetie". Then she asked me to make the gravy, or they would have to resort to instant! I'm looking forward to eating out, with the added bonus that I have no Full English to cook tomorrow either. Double whammy

              • Not sure whether I told you, but FIL is back at home, he was discharged from hospital on Thursday. He's still quite ill, but at 89 after a bad bang on the head and a bleed on the brain, it will be a slow recovery. We have had problems with the hospital community twice-a-day carers already, but I think that we've got it sorted. Funny how the tune changes when you mention you're a manager at the same hospital

                      • Lashed it down here too. Himself was apoplectic when the signal went on the telly, because it was at the critical end of the cricket Luckily it came back on in time for him to see the win.

                        • Been really windy and raining here to. Had to put my knitting down, started getting a headache. Been doing it since this afternoon. Nearly finished my 1st knitted sock

It's my 1st go knitting it on circular needles. It's not perfect but with more practice at it I will get better

                          • Evening all,
Been a "do nothing" day for me today after some excesses last night..

Brought kids bowling yesterday and all had great fun...Then went to a party at neighbours house; hence the slow day today

Fire is lit and wine is warming
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

                            ...utterly nutterly

                              • It's a bit unpleasant out there at the moment. Wet & quite windy. Should improve by morning. Enjoy the rest of your evening.
