  • Hi all, I'm still about and keeping up to date with things.
Also keeping up with the growing loads of seeds in, early potatoes etc
Trouble is my broadband is still playing up..
We've had the road dug up and openreached have now fixed the phone line, that's been off for nearly 3 weeks..
But now my ISP are saying it takes up to 10 days for the broadband to sort itself, really slow at the moment.

Pics will be uploaded to the captain's retreat thread when I'm back out of the dark ages!!

    • A watery, thin sun for part of the morning ... Cool and a bit windy now, but dry!!
Managed over 4 hours of digging again today - just chillin out with a medicinal port & brandy, just to ease the aching muscles, of course...!
I'm hoping I'll have broken the back of it all once the weekend has finished ...
An early trip to the local tip is needed to get rid of all roots/weeds etc dug up so far ...

        • Nothing remotely gardening related done today. An absolutely wet, cold and miserable day.Spent it tidying and catching up on housework.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

It's actually my mum's birthday today. She's in her 70s. We always have fun with her having an April Fool birthday
LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

                            • Mornin n'all!!

Oh good grief....I ache all over!
At least another flower bed is finally sorted, and half the rockery.
                              Round 2 later on today........

I gave up on the veg patches...OH cracked on with those yesterday...the soil is still very wet , cold and claggy.

I'm just listening to a blackbird....what a beautiful and varied call. Let's hope he/ she found some juicy bugs in the freshly turned soil!

Another lovely day's weather forecast for us .....

Oh..and my lovely news to share is that one of my daughter's sheep has had a lamb!
(She's had kids before, but never a baby lamb)
Having lost a very pregnant ewe and her unborn lambs last week this is a very welcome arrival!

It's just started raining again. At least that wind has died down. Best day for a while for playing outside. Which is a little annoying as I have to work today.
                                Have a good day everyone
