@Nicos, hope your OH's mum is going to be OK. How is your cat Hibou these days? I got out of the loop a bit on how she is doing - better I hope.
Today has been a pretty good day. Finally got 1 raised bed completed and in place - only another 2 more to go! It's taken us so long. All these things look quite easy but take ages. I'm afraid we are really slow. Longest bit has been painting all the wood and it still feels a bit tacky. Maybe the slugs will stick to it as they try and climb over to munch my veg
I bought some new shrubs as well. Now just crossing fingers and hoping they grow because it is a bit hit and miss with our clay soil even when picking things that should work. Plants either love it and grow amazing or wither quite early on.LOVE growing food to eat in my little town back garden. Winter update: currently growing overwintering onions, carrots, lettuce, chard, salad leaves, kale, cabbage, radish, beetroot, garlic, broccoli raab, some herbs.

Marie...Hibou's eye is much the same tbh.
Bit worse in fact at the moment because she's going outside now and the wind makes the eyelids sore and inflame more.
She was getting depressed- dull attitude and coat so we decided being outdoors was the lesser of 2 evils.
The antibiotic and cortisone injections yesterday are already working!
It'll be interesting to see how long their effect lasts for!
She's as lively, daft, happy and cheeky as ever but just goos from her eye and neck.
So sad to see it, but at least she survived the accident and didn't have any brain damage.
Thanks for asking xLast edited by Nicos; 08-04-2016, 05:42 PM."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Hello Folks, have been very busy this week with the grandchildren being on holiday, a two week school break at this time of year is too long, wet and cold at present have been in the greenhouse most evenings and running out of space, I think I will have to make up some baskets to clear some space, the problem there is protecting them when frost is forecast, I will think on it (Jay that should be ok Im not cutting corners) we have had some very heavy rain this week, and when you watch the news and see areas in the world suffering from drought, it makes you wonder why no one catches the millions of gallons that run off the hills and fill tankers with it. I suppose that should be a rant but it is such a waste when there are people in need.
Well good night and have a good weekend I am off to the greenhouse for a time. Goodnightit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
Member of the Nutters Club but I think I am just there to make up the numbers

A change of plan with regard to putting one foot in front of the other in the morning means that I get to enjoy a glass of Pumpkin and Blueberry Wine (enjoy not the right word, actually, but a shot of lemonade works wonders!!)
So - what have we got.....
