Tripped over my shoelaces about an hour ago with both hands full of gardening stuff. Fell face down on the gravelly tarmac path with no way to save myself. Blood gushed as I sat up. Oh oh. Clamped a hand over a head wound, then indoors a clean tea towel, and lay down on the kitchen floor till the bleeding stopped. Rang doctors surgery - no reply, so into the car and drove there - only the next village - can someone have a look at this cut, its over my eye and I can't see if it's clean, needs a stitch, whatever.
Sorry, no nurse available, duty doctor out on a call. Can give you an appointment for 4.45.
Well thanks, I'll go home then. If it needs a stitch, that will be too late.
I've had a poke as best I can, seems fairly clean, big bruise forming.
Could have been worse, I suppose - I could have skewered myself on the shears
(I'll go and wash the blood off the brush and edging shears now.)
I was poo-picking, and minding my own business, and there is was, just crawling along the hosepipe.
We had a few here last year, and I hadn't expected to see one this early in the year. It seems very dopey.
Anyway, due to being very allergic to stings, I have put a glass jar over it, and rested something heavy on top, to keep it safe from being disturbed by my two nosy dogs.
my rant is,why is that none gardeners do not understand when you say, please do not stand on the raised bed, thats why i had you make them that width,so no need to,but,it can be dug over,NO<NO<NO,thats why it is easy to get said weeds out,no walky on beds,

You'll be pleased to know that Hubby came home early, and relocated the dopey Hornet to the safety of the ivy patch in the hedge down the bottom of the garden.
Rant: After housework, horse duties and dog walk, why the chuff did I do ten minutes on the ruddy treadmill!? I was cold, and Hubby said it would warm me up. It did, but now my legs don't want to work.
Stupid L!dl had advertised on the internet they were having their gardening day today, so left the house even though it is a holiday to a very busy L!dl to find that they had changed their minds and have moved it to thursday...grrr.
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

I have not broken the laptop. You have unplugged it while it was charging and plugged the printer in. So the laptop went totally flat and I got the blame.
Medical staff who approach the DNR decision from the angle that he has had an accident, has suffered a seizure as a result, had a heart attack 10 years ago and is 89 There was an immediate apology when we pointed out that he is hardly ever ill, shares the housework, shopping and cooking, still cuts his own huge lawn and normally enjoys a happy and healthy quality of life.
