Supposed to go to North Yorkshire today to see the Grandson and help him plant his strawberry runners - he's 3 in July.
The trip normally takes just less than 2 hours.
Sat in traffic on the A1(M) for 3 hours with a whiny OH a wingeing dog and a full bladder. Got directed off the A1 towards Doncaster then got lost - sat nav is piggin useless (mind you if I got it updated it might help).
Finally saw a sign that said A1(M) South so came back home.
I'm sure its the dogs new pills that make him tiddle for Britain. In the 6 hours we were out we had to find a doggy piddle place 4 times - next trip he will be in doggy nappies.
Worst thing is I don't get to see my beautiful Grandson plant strawberries.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

Went to the garden centre to buy 4 vines. They were so busy they were using the overspill carpark. I just left and decided to have a drink with my son so that it wasn't a totally wasted journey. Couldn't park any where so went home. Try again during next week.
He moved house while I was on holiday so I was interested in seeing his new abode."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)

Flat pack furniture .... instructions that might as well be printed in Latin and just the right amount of screws/washers etc, so make sure you don't mistakenly throw them out in the masses of packaging that swathes everything!
Four and a half hours later, wardrobe complete. "Would've looked better on the other wall" .......~~~ Gardening is medicine that does not need
a prescription ... And with no limit on dosage.

New cooker, new kitchen, felt the urge to bake. Recipe I've relied on for years looks like 2 crispy (although rather thick) pancakes. Not the big fluffy cream sponge I was expecting."I prefer rogues to imbeciles as they sometimes take a rest" (Alexander Dumas)

Note to self: taking a train trip out of town then running home might seem like a fun idea for a training session, however, with the running route being north to south, and storm Katie approaching south to north the result is a twelve mile slog directly into a headwind aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllll the way home.Last edited by Hazel at the Hill; 27-03-2016, 02:47 AM.

Having to 'unfollow' a lovely Lady, because I simply don't have time to 'ooooh!' and 'aaaah!' at all the lovely pictures that clog up my 'newsfeed' (if ever there was a misnomer!) I'm glad she has the time to spend finding and sharing them all, they are all gorgeous, but I simply don't have the time.
And, I feel bad doing it!Last edited by Glutton4...; 27-03-2016, 09:48 AM.All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment
