After 36hrs being able to receive but not have emails go out (no error message, they are suspended in the ether somewhere), the log jam has resolved itself. Of course, that means that all the emails I sent at work today have pinged into various in-boxes at about 9.45pm. How sad does that make me look?

In-laws squabbling for the possessions of my husband's dead uncle
Disgusting vultures.
His adult children, grief stricken and and disinterested in material objects, are now not going to their own father's funeral, for fear of the three ring circus it is becoming.

An Adjoining Owner that demands I visit their property Saturday afternoon or after 7:30 at night for an inspection. I have explained that visits are between 8:30 - 4:30 Monday to Friday. I have offered 7:30 as he is relatively near, or he can arrange access with a friend or drop off a spare key. I have explained that I work to live not live to work.
Text message from him re he is delighted I have such a pleasant life but it's totally ludicrous to expect people to fit around me and then going on about the British attitude to work and service and that it's usually beneath us and my work hours beggers belief.
I've let him know that I don't apologise for having a life outside or work, arriving an hour and a half earlier than most surveyors would is flexible enough, take it or leave it, and finally he is going to let me know when will be convenient. The internet is wonderful, I found out he is a director at a large company and is obviously used to telling people to jump and they respond "how high"
This guy has been a right royal pain the bum since he first contacted me, he isn't going to like dealing with me or the party wall process one little bit.

Got back yesterday from a visit to see my parents . The heat here is phenomenal, compounded by wind. It's the hottest summer we've had. Terrible. Everything bar the onions, peppers, chillies, melons and tomatoes is dying. Sad to see all our hours of labour fading, frazzling and bolting. Trying to keep the doom-and-gloom feeling at bay but not doing a good job.
