Lastly, come on you lot wake up.........................huge black slugs (measured one last night and it was 5in long) that eat anything, everything and crawl up walls.

We have a hen sitting on 10 eggs.
One chick hatched this morning and we were thrilled cos as our boys are elderly we weren't quite sure if any of them were fertile.
We nipped out to get some chick crumb and decided to check if there were any more ( and remove empty shells)
Hmm....one squashed chick.
She'd only gone and trod on the poor thing and killed it.
On closer inspection it looks like none of the other eggs are viable so we may well need to take the chick crumb back to the shop.
Flippin typical.

Why do horseflies have a (insert lots of rude words) obsession with me. I really don't need help looking like an idiot running around and talking to thin air. And the fact I am seriously contemplating going out in a bee suit even for those odd 1 min. nip out jobs. I am starting to look like a dot-to-dot!
Edit: I go out fully clothed as well. I don't do lovely summery tops and shorts like everyone else. I am still in jeans and long sleeve tops in the hope the bites aren't quite so bad
Oh and whilst I am at it.....butterflies!. Yes at least 50% are cabbage whites. Where do they come from and why is it you never see the poxy things hibernating. They just appear..en masse
