    • Went out for afternoon tea, had a gift voucher, one received as a present, not groupon etc., cost of tea £22.0 value of voucher £60. the waiter had to ask how much that left on voucher, to which I said £38. then went to the manager to get the ok this as it is counted in multiples of 5s they would give me a £35. voucher to which I said no I would give them £2 and they could give me a£40 voucher and I was told no they couldn't do that as vouchers were in multiples of 5s so had to go through the 5 times table for them, it would appear that nowadays people can't do counting without a calculator or till to work it out for them.

          • Foxes have started using my netted beds as their preferred leg cocking spot.

And the lovely brewery who give me their spent hops stuck a rogue bag of spent grain in there. Took me well over an hour to scrape it all off my beds (cos I didn't check, numpty that I am). Now I get to take it to the tip...

            • All summer, and it still continues - warm, horrible humid weather created by stormy clouds. I love the old freshness of Autumn mornings and evenings but it just seems to be a continuous close, unhealthy muggy climate that is harbouring pests and increasing diseases on my plants.

              ABSOLUTLY HATE IT !!!

                • Found more cat mess up our alleyway a stray uses. A dead frog it probably killed. Neighbours dogs yapping on and off all day. The worst must be about 20 now and still keeps on going and will probably for years and years. Then witnessed a young man chuck a lit cigarette into our front garden as he walked past (I had a feeling he would before he did it) but can't say a thing because we have cars keyed outside our houses all the time. Last time I challenged a guy (far older than me and I'm almost 50) for dropping litter the next morning my wing mirror was kicked clean off. Dog fouling on the pavement and cars and motorbikes with loud exhausts speeding.

That's the society we live in and I wish I had the money to move well away from people but I can't ever see being able to afford it

                  • My rant is about GL...........................a thread was opened about the refurbishment of the Gardener's Rest...................I obliged until I got my botty stuck onto a newly painted loo seat.

Before I had chance to escape from that predicamnet the thread closed.

So, now here I am a painted ring aroung my wotsit not knowing if I can go to the Christmas shin dig.

This whole episode was NOT my fault as I distinctly remember seeing a sign that said Gardens Of Rest Toilets'. Thankfully, the caretaker who had once had a leading role in the film Forest Bump took pity on me - fed me - watered me - prised me off the seat etc.

So, GL you left me alone and sticky in the Gardens Of Rest toilet................

                    • Had a call from someone with an Indian accent purporting to be from Microsoft and saying that my computer had been blacklisted. Having wound him up a bit I hung up on him. This was from a landline number. Blow me if 10 mins later the same person rings from a mobile and starts the same rubbish. I already knew it was a scam.

I've now researched this and Microsofts suggestion is that I shouldn't answer the phone to a number I don't know. I can't do that as I have things going on that means I have to be contactable.

I've now decided on a course of action when they ring again (which they will). I've already said I don't have Windows or any Microsoft on my computer. I only run their os not their other software.

I might have some fun next time. I think they targeted me because they think at my age I won't be very au fait with 'pooters. I have a degree in IT and taught it at university.
