There are 2 of us so why on earth did I need 16 tom plants. We are now up to our unmentionables in varios toms - The last few years have been terrible so I really should not moan but even the neighbours are avoiding me when I run after then begging for them to have some tomatoes.

How can some people take the pee so much and not even twig? What ever happened to looking after the customer?

Also it is because of people like this that you feel a mug for having been nice (but I still wouldn't change thankfully)

It leaves me feeling like all my confidence has been sucked out of me ~ and I hate myself for allowing it to happen ................

Imagine the scene - I'm sitting at the kitchen table trying to make new music CD's for the car - the door is open and the rain is hammering down...........

I spot something on the floor outside........thought it might be a spikey twig etc that could hurt the elderly dogs......goes out and peers down.........

it's the biggest piggin orange slug I have ever seen.

My normal tactic is pick them up and lob but for this beasties I decided gloves might be an idea. It was bright orange with a reddish underbelly, about 6 inches long and like me, FAT.

If they get any bigger they are going to need bright little jackets so I can see them before they trip me over.
It would have fed a family of 4 for at least 3 days...............

Horseflies again. Eldest has 11 bites on legs, all but 1 of which have become infected. Going to bed tonight covered in antiseptic & plasters to stop scratching. This is 2 weeks after my dad had a bite so infected he had to have antibiotics, a huge dressing changed daily, & a walking stick as he couldn't walk properly
