  • Its January because.............:)

Most of the time I haven't a clue what day it is. I honestly thought it was Sunday today
However, I know its January because the first snowdrops and crocuses have appeared in the muddy patch I call "lawn".
This started me wondering what other plants mark the months in your gardens.
Here are some of mine -
    Daffodils mean March
New leaves on the trees = April
    Bluebells are May
    Tomatoes are June
    Courgettes are July
    Leaves turning = October
    Leaves falling = November
    Camellia in flower = December.

    Who needs calendars?

My elephants ears are in full flower now. The honey suckle that was massacred by the council is leafing up nicely and the garlic is romping ahead. Oh and my planter with spring onions in it is going really well in the garden.

So for my calendar it could be March, Sept, April or....who knows

It must be January as we have loads of fruit cake in the kitchen and chocolates in the front room

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

It must be January because December has finished and some folks are talking about closing the GR

If it's unopened does it really need to take up valuable fridge space?

We've got a fruit cake in the house all year round!
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
              Pumpkin pi.

I know it's January because there's not enough daylight in the day & it makes me want to hibernate til spring,I've probably eaten enough over Christmas to manage successfully.

I know it's January as I naively think I'm ready to go back to work. Only for one day in to think I need another holiday...

I know its January because I try to start a "serious" thread about plants and nobody takes me seriously
It happens in February, March.......etc too so it could be any month, any day today

VC and 'serious' are not synonymous!

You'll just have to start a new thread each month.

I know its January because my living room looks like a garden centre seed packets laid out everywhere. Potatoes chitting on the shelves. Sweeping the floors a couple of times a day where i have dropped soil everywhere. Seriously though my house is a big mess
I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

I know it's January because I spend more time on the Snowheads forum than here. Sorry
