I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....
Due to a small windfall, today I was able to go to town and pay five outstanding bills, such a relief that burden is lifted I hope this counts, it certainly feels like an achievement!
Oh I wonder why the edit came up as a new post? My fault probably!
I started the week not knowing what to do ..............then it all fell into place.
Problem :-
One muddy lawn with very little surviving grass &
3 very energetic dogs that like to chase around on the "lawn", get muddy feet and bring the mud into the kitchen.
Solution - build a puppy playground
Using:
A pile of wood chippings from next door's conifers
Several rounds of ash tree
Result :-
Happy and relatively clean dogs that smell of pine
Far less grass to mow in summer.
I can peg out the washing without sliding in mud
All in all, well pleased with this week's challenge
Mine's to start the Carrots in a bucket Challenge. http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...6-a_88269.html

Week one : ate avocado with salt and lemon
Week two : wrote a letter to our solicitor
Week three : ate a kaki fruit
Week four : rescued nine hibernating queen wasps
Week five : spent hours working on the garden ponds
Week six : Paid all our outstanding bills in one go
Week seven : finally learned to play The Entertainer on the piano
Week eight, some of you may remember that totally un-environmentally friendly people bought my dads house next door, they plan to chop down mums lovely trees not to mention spraying the meadow (which I will fight) so I decided to use the bit of money dad left me to buy a proper native, fruiting hedgerow to screen off the horrible goings on next door and give something back to nature and the birds also my parents were extremely environmentally friendly so it will be a lasting, living tribute to them. The hedge arrived last Friday and my challenge this week is to plant it!
Week 1. Empty all the presses in the bedrooms and airing cupboard.
Week 2. Paint the bedroom walls.
Week 3.Paint all doors white.
Week 4. Put carpet down in the bedroom.
Week 5. Get back out walking every day regardless.
Week 6. Eat five portions of veg daily.
Week 7. Sow my tomato and chilli seeds.
WEEK 8. Th8s week, I need to weed the onions snd garlic beds.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
