  • Seedy Sunday Brighton

No stone left unturned in the search for more seeds...

Anyone else going to Seedy Sunday: community seed swap event and biodiversity campaign in Brighton and Hove?

I'm taking a bag of stuff to swap - and dragging a strongly protesting Mr Sparrow along for the ride and for his handy ability to carry stuff.

I wish it was nearer for me.

I used to go to the Garden Organic potato day & seed swap at Ryton, near Cov but the new chap in charge ended it all.

I am going to it Went to it last year and it was great

In regards to the seeds, I have some in brand packets (e.g. T&M, Mr F.) would I need to take these out of these and put them into smaller packs for the seed swap do you know?

The Seed swaps I've been to, take seeds in their original packets as well as smaller packs.
Never been to the Brighton one though.

You could always email them to ask. I got a really quick & helpful response when I wanted to know what they expected from self-saved seeds.

I have a big swag-bag VC - capers, chillies, 4 different kinds of spuds, yacon, loads of bean, brassica and tomato seeds. And some elephant garlic from the very charming Rob Smith (who won the Allotment Challenge last year). Also met Sean from the horticultural channel - he's proper lovely.

Was hard to get to the seed swap table - in places it was 4 deep! All my seeds went...I think. Wish I'd taken more when I saw how the squash seeds in particular were flying out. I've got masses at home I could have given away...Will know for next year.

The talks were really interesting too. *happy haze*

Glad you had a great day, I think Sean was going to do some filming and put the footage up on his channel tomorrow.
