  • The kettles on, Take a seat and put up your feet.

With the numbers of new Grapes going up all the time, Now is the time to wish you all a warm welcome. The Grapes on the vine are just the sort of folk that enjoy a good chat.
Some of the Grapes have a good working knowledge of growing vegetables while others are just starting out. I personally am just starting out so enjoy reading the gems that others have been able to offer.
One thing I do want to say is that if you have a question you want answered, then with the range of Grapes we have on the vine, it stands a very good chance of being solved.
It always surprises me how new Grapes hesitantly post for the first time telling all, how little they know, but a few days later they post again with an answer for another Grapes question. This proves to me that no mater how little you think you know; soon you'll be surprising yourselves at how much you do actually know.
So pull up a chair and have a cupper while we chat. The keyboards in front of you. You know you want to post. Go on give it a go.

Once again welcome to the Grapevine
    Jax.

ps. Lesley Jay and Geordie are two more Moderators you will spot on the boards. If you have any problems just give us a PM and we will try to help.

It works the other way round as well Jax. It doesn't matter how much you think you know you can always pick up a nugget, or as a friend of mine says

that's lovely, all of you. I like this forum, everyone is so helpful and nice, but also funny too.

one question - and I know I should know the answer somehow from reading, but Jaxom is a kind of asexual name.... so, guy or gal?! please declare yourself!!

I'm a Man, your not the first to wonder We as Mods have proposed the gender of Grapes being shown in personal profiles to make things easier.
Jaxom is a fictional name in a science fiction novel for a Dragon riding Lord Holder who brakes loads of perceived conventions on his home planet.
My real name is Jack but so many young lads are on the net these days called Jack that I used to get asked all the time how old I was
Before someone asks my age can be seen in my profile. I am 40.
            Jax which sounds like Jack

We're back to the voices again (remember that one ???)

Just wanted to say I really miss you lot when I've been away. Missed a few days last week and had to catch up with over a 100 posts. Great! OH thinks I've got fancy man - doesn't believe me when I say I am picking up gardening tips!

Back to the voices, yes, but in my minds eye i have a kind of a picture of what people look like. The first one i was proven wrong by was Lesley J. I had a picture of a young tall thin woman until she posted about a Hydrangia and said her son had one in his garden Then i knew she was'nt the young person i had in mind. No offence meant LJ.

Sometimes the illusion we weave in our heads is the best. I know that this forum is full of good-looking fit young people and I am happy with that

                          Oops

Sorry guys, I think my posting reads as a question doesn't it.. It was meant to just be a comment following on from Bramble's... I'll change it quickly now.

Agreed, it's half the fun now actually knowing what someone looks like
