Music lovers, how do you do it!

Organise your CDs, that is
Do you organise A to Z
Or release date
Or "best ever album" to " what was I thinking "
Or completely random.

Presently my CDs are completely random. It's starting to bug me A LOT!

I prefer to put them on a stick & play them as a shuffle.

Mine are A to Z by artist, same as my LP's. Although I mostly listen to the MP3 versions using Mediamonkey.

Mines completely random well apart from my Queen CD's they live in a pile next to the Hi-fi.

My OH use to work as a manager at Our Price years ago before they got bought out by Virgin. He has done his from A-Z with band name not album name that is.
He says he could organise it by record label if he felt like it. Started working in a record shop in Haverfordwest when he was 16 so he knows he record labels.

I love my music
Have lots of CDs but all in boxes now...
Ripped all CDs onto a NAS (network assisted storage) at high quality digital version...
Bought a SONOS system for various rooms of the house, installed ceiling speakers when I was building and now also subscribed to Spotify, so all angles covered....Sonos is controllable from your phone and has Spotify integrated into it...

Trip I have know idea what you're talking about .

I do have half a clue really. But I'm not very tech savvy. I have always wanted speakers in every room and controlled from a central point.
But there is something about putting a CD on. I can really understand why lots of people are going back to vinyl.

I think I'm going to go back to artist alphabetical order for my CDs. Can't really sort into genre as 90% of my music is rock. Granted I do have prog, punk, soft, glam, then moving into metal (no doubt I've missed some). That just gets technical, as some fall into more then one genre.

I told you I love my music!!

Seriously though, I don't plan on building another house, so when I was doing it, I put a lot of time into researching various things like air tightness, insulation, plumbing and stuff like that...
And of course fun stuff like multi-room music systems (I even put ceiling speakers in our en-suite), wired network points in all rooms and a surround sound system for movies
My motto was that we would spent so much time in our house that we should make it suit what we liked to do (we both loved music and movies with kids) and try also to future proof it when doing so..

Herself gave me many funny (and some not so funny) looks when the budget had all these items listed, and then again, when there were speakers and network systems arriving before we had even ordered a cooker

Have no idea what you are talking about Trip. My OH has only just got rid of all his vinyl, which broke his heart.
