  • Ideas wanted for tree "slices"!

The Ash tree has been felled and the trunk sliced into discs. They're about 9" thick, 36" diameter and there are about 20 of them.
They're much too nice to burn, so, who has some suggestions please (I don't need 20 coffee tables !!)
Apologies for the photos but its dark and raining now.

    Stepping 'stone' path.

Ornate border, path, lawn or driveway edging.

Drill a hole through the middle of them, and stack 'em back up on a broom handle to make your own tree!

    I'll get my coat...

I thought about stepping "stones" but worry that they may become slippy.
Making a "tree" is a totally daft idea - so I like it

Oooooh - Cheese boards - what a fab money earner!

Burn squares in the top and sell them as outdoor chess boards.

You could nail wire mesh across the tops to stop them being slippery, if you use them as stepping stones.

Back on the 'thread them on a broom' track, you could make bollards from them.

Or you could carve them and make 'build-your-own' totem poles.

Or carve them into salad bowls or dishes.

                  Or plant-pot saucers.

                  Or dog bowls.

                  Or bird baths.

You could screw three legs to each one and have some lovely garden seats, or seats in your greenhouse.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
