    Used to say ta ta, years ago - don't use it now. It really went out of fashion, you hear ta ra more often nowadays, I think.

      Indeed. And there's another subtle variation, more like Ta Da (not the exclamation). If you ever watch Wheeler Dealers, the presenter Mike Brewer always signs off with that.

        TTFN is an initialism for a colloquial valediction,.........but you knew that anyway

            Quite right VC came to prominence in WW11. Mum & Dad used it often as it was used on a 50s radio show.

                          Much of South Yorkshire, the blokes call other blokes love or duck which throws you a bit when you're not used to it (They'd probably get a different reaction around here )
