Calling people cocker was common when I worked with lots of people from Barnsley and Doncaster. One of my male friends nearly got in a bit of a pickle with that when on a train from Glasgow
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

We also refer to all females as 'hen'
It's a bit cringeworthy when you post it - but the term is meant in an affectionate way.

Truanting from school was also known as 'dogging it'

Edit:I mean Glasgow and not Hull, where I stay now.

I prefer baps, though in West Yorkshire when I was growing up it would be called a plain teacake or Yorkshire teacake.
What do you get if you divide the circumference of a pumpkin by its diameter?
            Pumpkin pi.
