  • oh so busy today!

First of all, coffee and sweet delights with our Spanish neighbours at 11am, discussing the new chicken housing project, then sow sow sow! Today I have sowed the following seeds in the new little plastic greenhouse -
2 Aubergines - Smooth Round Black (Spanish seed)
2 Sweet peppers - Maor (Spanish seed)
Basil - Sweet Basil - (free seeds with GYO)
Basil - Thai basil (free seeds with GYO)
Strawberry - Temptation (free seeds with GYO)
All the following tomatoes are from seed saved from my neighbour's fruits of last year.
2 of each of the following Toms - Gabriel, Kilo (yup, it's a big one), Maruja, Nariz (means "nose" because of it's shape), Bardello, Marmande.
And new tom seeds - 2 seeds each of Marmande Cuarenteno and Cherry toms.
Leeks - Elefant (free seeds with GYO)
Leeks - Carentan (Spanish variety which has done very well previously)
Kale - Nero di Toscana - (free seeds with GYO)
Lettuce - Summer Marvel - (Spanish seed)
    Lettuce - Romaine (Spanish seed)
The following seeds I sowed direct into the veggie beds -
Carrots - Nantesa 2 (Spanish seed)
Radish - Red Round (Spanish seed)
    Peas - Lincoln (Spanish seed)
Lambs Lettuce - Canonigos (Spanish seed)

and today I have turned my rather full compost bag into another bag, adding some rotted chicken bedding into the mix too. Tidied and sorted my lengths of netting ready for the brassicas later in the year. But saying that, today there was a cabbage white on my kale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
