Saw this warning and thought I should share it. I'm used to rubbish emails from Banks that I have no accounts in etc, but I might have been fooled by one from "Royal Mail"
My experience of Royal Mail is that as they levy an "administration" fee for collecting the VAT for HMRC they will do whatever they can to get this admin fee off of you. I would not exclude them robbing HMRC of any package in order to get the fee from you.
Whoever has thought that one up has never experienced Royal Mail.
I was at a local sorting office just over a week ago and one person was paying his charges and the woman did say that quite often the recipient refuses to accept the package and says to return to sender as the admin charge makes it too costly.
