I have a bathroom to dot & dab later in spring but like you I have a clever Sean to finish the job, just makes tiling so much easier, better result too.

        Sorted it

She'll never notice the wall, I have employed an ancient 'distraction technique'

Now I just need to set up a regular delivery of cut flowers, problem solved.

Nah.....she'll spot the dust ...which will now be absolutely everywhere!

Me thinks you rather liked the look of my kitchen during the renovation? .....ha!

The French tend to use something called 'map' which is a bit like a very solid plaster/glue which sets rock hard.
It's used to stick plasterboard onto ceilings and walls if you don't need insulation behind it.
The plasterboards are taped together with scrim tape then a fine cover of white plaster over the tape.
The rest of the plasterboard is never plastered...just carefully rubbed down and emulsioned.
Works a treat...can't understand why in the uk plastering is actually so neccessary any more...

That system is getting more popular in the UK now Nicos, particularly over studwork in factories, offices, etc

We now have multiple intermediate 2way switching in the hallway, Mrs.BB is happy the downside is I've got 2 more chases to cut into the old plasterwork, remember what happened earlier
