Wordpress attached to a domain is easy.

well, I did fallow wiki and found few reputable hosts like Register.com, GoDaddy.com.. but few are more pricy permonth than others..and GoDaddy.com. seems to be cheaper in the first year only.

I use both w**bly and w!x. Websites bought through 123 or whatever they're called.

I found the w!x one the easiest, even though I'd been using the other one for a couple of years.

Try both and buy your domain through whichever you choose to use. It's actually quite easy once you can grasp it, and it means you have total control of your website, and can make changes and additions yourself, whenever you want, instead of paying someone else to do it!

I would think they are brand names disguised so as not to advertise them directly on the forum, might be an idea to ask the same question in a PM

OK, just replace the ** with ee in the first one, and replace the ! with i in the second. They are diy website companies, that make all this complicated stuff easy so a schmuck like me can do it. Let's face it, if I can do it, it's gotta be easy!

You can buy the domain name (that's the bit after www) through either of them, making the whole process easier. Good luck!

I'm in agreement with alldigging. I think Wordpress is best, and most websites are made from it nowadays. But there are two different ways of using it. The easiest way is to sign up for the free, ready-made version at wordpress.com. Then you only need to pay for a domain name. You'll have a nice selections of themes to choose from and some can be customised with your own header photo or logo. The other way, if you want to do something more fancy than that allows, is to rent some web-hosting space and install wordpress software on it. Most web hosting companies have it ready to install for just a few clicks so it isn't very difficult. I use Dreamhost for web hosting and domain name registration and have found them very good.

You can host the entire thing on wordpress and tbh I think that's probably easiest as you know it will always be up to date.
As for domains I have been told they are going up in the next few months.

1and1 or fasthosts. I have domains with both.

Yes, and I was advised to buy www dot myname dot com if it was available, as 'things' are moving that way, and it may be worthwhile for the future.
