  • Grapes meet up?

Just a thought. Do any of you grapes meet up locally? If you do or think it would be a good idea to organise let me know.

Some of the grapes met at The Malvern Spring jobby this year & Tatton Park last year I think.

I think it would be a great Idea if we got together & put on a stand at a smaller show to advertise the Vine & growing your own, if we all took on one variety of something then get together to do it .... how about CHelsea next year show these amateurs how it's done Lol!!

Trousers and I met the Piglets after I engineered the first proper 'meet up' a few years back where we arranged to meet a lovely old gentleman from a garden forum, which then 'kick-started' a number of forum members wanting to meet each other. So. I'm naturally quite proud of 'kick-starting' that, because we would never have met Hazel & Jane otherwise either..., or The Tiggers - we've truly met some lovely people along the way.

The only thing I would say, is that it does take a little bit of effort to make it happen, but it IS worth the effort. And the fun that it brings, is potentially truly amazing.

mrs2cb I think is exactly right here Nick, it should be fun for Grapes to meet up.
Surely GYO are big enough and ugly enough (allegedly) to stand their own corner?!
I hope there's lots that do meet up, and if we can too, we'll most certainly be there.

We've met up with Pigletwillie and Piglette (when we were passing within a not too far distance of thier home and plot, which was a great day (and what an amazing couple of plots, home and garden they have!)) and also with Yoanbob (met them thru the vine, met up with Yo here, then had them round for a barbecue, then went to their wedding (wonderful day) and then organised a grapevine digging party at theirs as a wedding prezzie, where we met up with Digger07 (Dave) and Sarzwix (Sarah), who were both lovely folks!

Have also met LJ's other half, at his place of work, but would deffo both be up for a meet up if we were available and it wasnt too far a distance for us to travel!

I have threatened to host a barbecue here for those grapes we've become friendly with online, but we are still waiting for the weather to improve enough to make it a possibility!

Mind you, there is the Tatton park thingy coming up next week, and I quite fancy it, so if we can sort out a day we can get there I'd love to meet up with anyone that was also going!

We're going to Tatton on the Sunday (I think), still haven't got around to buying the tickets. Has to be weekend as we can't get the time off work otherwise and the advantage of Sunday is you can get hold of some bargains when they sell stuff off at the end of the day. Fingers crossed now for good weather.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I dont ever seem to have much spare time, what with one thing and another, but will keep my eye on what you arrange and join in if I can. Would love to meet up, time allowing
Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance

I think only Grandpadragon is close enough to me for a possible meet up (unless there are other grapes who haven't disclosed a location nearby)
                        Happy Gardening,

I've met Sunbeam as we live close to each other. Found we have lots in common and chat non-stop whenever we meet up for coffee.
Going to the open weekend at Thompson and Morgans trial ground in Ipswich on 28/9th if any Suffolk grapes are heading that way too, would love to meet you.
