    Children and grandchildren in today.
Got cards, chocs, prosecco and plants and a bouquet.
Then, I ended up making them all lunch even though it was Mothers day.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

I wouldn't have expected there to be Godmother cards, would never have occurred to me for Mothers' Day / Mothering Sunday, have never even considered for a second sending mine a card and would be very surprised (and a bit confused) to get one from my God children. Nice enough thing to do but I can't imagine there is much of a market as its not their day. Have seen cards for grandparents on Mothers' Day but don't know anybody that buys them - always assumed they were just a sign that shops were trying to get us to spend more again.....

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Alison, my grandchildren bring me a card and flowers every mothers day. Its just a token from them to mark the day.
They know I am their mothers mother and their fathers mother but they like to do it just the same.
My eldest ( or even oldest) grandchild is 25 now and he still never misses a year.

Ya know what! Been working today, it being "Mothering Sunday" n all, getting up at some "Unearthly Hour" lost my Mum a good few years back, and always remember her saying when she was ill! Please don't dwell on my passing! I'll catch up with you again one day! So did that for the first time in years! Didn't go to her grave! But feeling very "Guilty" Be there first thing in the Morning!

My God Mother was never able to have children and I was her first God Child. Both her and her husband looked after their elderly parents until they died. She didn't marry until she was in her 50's so she didn't expect to start a family. I send her a card because she is special to me and I know that if she had of had children she would of made a great mom but instead put her parents first.

Sorry, wasn't meant to be a criticism of you choosing to give her a card for all the right reasons, was just saying that there won't be that much of a demand for non standard cards so I wasn't surprised you couldn't get one. Hope that makes more sense.
