If its a standard GH, it should be easy to fit it yourself. Measure the glass you need, go to a glazier who will cut it for you, bring it back and clip it in.

Is there anybody from work who will fit it for you, it's only a 5 minute job.

Might be worth asking your neighbours?...even those you don't normally speak with?
You'd be surprised how many people are happy to help but are a bit shy of invading other people's privacy!

A friend or relative of a neighbour may be pleased to help/ of a bit of cash.

Glaziers are in fact a dying breed.

Most windows these days are double glazed so the actual cutting and fitting of glass is not a trade requirement as everything comes pre-packaged.

Of the few that are left most are into stained glass windows and you wouldn't want to be paying the money those people demand.

Fitting glass into a GH is not a difficult job at all, have you tried any local handymen, they should be more than capable of doing it for you. You may even try a gardening services company.

Dying breed indeed, I rang round 18 companies before I found a lad to do it. 78 quid its going to cost me! Quite devestated :/ Apparently there is a service charge and because the glass is so big it has to be custom made.

Can you put polycarb in instead?

PS I'm curious! What size is the glass? Any photos?

4mm float glass comes in standard sheets 3210mm x 2550mm.

These days it retails at about £28 a square metre, though deals can be had if you shop around.

Evs, I'm finding this a little puzzling. You've taken all the glass out of the GH, ok broke one pane. Then you moved the GH & re-glazed it. May I ask what is stopping you buying the glass & fitting it yourself.

The largest pane of glass I can think of is 1210mm x 610mm (4ft x 2ft). You can buy acrylic glass in that size for £25 inc delivery.

I tend to make and mend. I have loads of greenhouse glass and just put two panes in where one big one was with some homemade strips off an old tin can to adjust and hook the overlap in a greenhouse. If you imagine the joints on a normal greenhouse, just lengthen the tin can strips to suit whatever pane size you have.
Probably sounds a bit gobbledegook to the uninitiated...........I'll sneak a picccie of my glass overlaps on my greenhouse if I get a chance.
