This problem was most definitely NOT just on this site.
I was getting pop ups and all sorts all over the place whichever website I went to!

hi there you have a good one with spybot but i dont think you have seen the last of Mcafee it will come back as it is installed at scource you need a prog to clear it and it does slow your comp down AVG is the best i have had norton is another that you cannot get rid of/

I use iPad - always ads top, bottom, sides flashing nonstop ....
Learning to ignore them but ruddy irritating if I accidentally 'tap'one of the ads and takes me to their website .....

I use my iPad in portrait and there are no ads. Landscape is a different matter.
