      • Hi LD! I haven't been around on the vine for ages and have only just picked up this thread.

I was SO sorry to hear about Mr LD, but it's really fantastic news that he's doing so well, he must have lots of determination! As I read through the thread you can see day by day with each post the improvement in him, slowly at first but getting better all the time which is truly wonderful.

As others have already said, I hope that you're taking time to look after yourself too and eating properly, you need to be in top form ready for when he comes home which doesn't sound as if it will be too long now.

Everyone is so kind here on the vine, you must have been so touched by all the good wishes and prayers.

Thanks for taking the time to keep us all up to date with how he's doing :-)

Thinking and praying for Mr LD and you and the family too.

              • Doll you sound ker-nickered.

I imagine that it is difficult for both of you as things at home have changed again. Can you speak to the physio about the wheelchair - I am sure the OH would love a trip outside somewhere after what he has been going through.

As you are going to be the main pusher please don't plan on too far of an outing as it will ker-knicker you - where is the local pub and does it do descent food?

It must be strange having him home after so long but don't forget that you can rant and rave on here as we are all cyber friends and will help where we can.

                      • So pleased for you LD, that Mr LD is home again. I'm sure he will improve every day.

Do remember to take time out for yourself though. It's very hard being at someone's beck and call 24/7, even when you have strong loving ties, so make sure family members come, and maybe take him out in a wheelchair, or sit with him, so you can have some "me time" and do some things you enjoy and want to do.

                        Lots of (((hugs))) xx

                          • So glad he's coming home! Now begins the next chapter of his recovery...

My top tip (speaking as a full time carer both at home and professionally) is that after the first visit of the home physio...every time he/she comes over, you make yourself scarce!
It is a physio's job to get him moving.
He is likely to feel quite frustrated and maybe even feel a bit bullied.
                            He might get rather grumpy.

The physio is used to this....
                            and you can't really help...
So get out of the way, take that time for yourself (after all, a trained professional is in the room)
Likewise if he has anyone coming in to visit...thats your cue to nip out.
When you get back you will both be pleased to see each other. He'll have news about his visitor and how it went, you'll have news about what you did or what you've bought...especially if its something delicious to share with a cup of tea.
