  • What are your plans for the weekend?

Hi everyone, well I was just wondering what everyone had planned for the weekend, bearing in mind the weather. I have two plans. Plan A and Plan B:

Plan A - if its not raining

Go down to lottie, plant a few more veg, do a bit of weeding and finish off my "patio" area.

Plan B - if its raining

Have a lie in then spend a few hours making Earthbabe's Green Tomato Chutney.

The weather forecast for Preston is changeable at the mo so I don't know what I'll be doing tomorrow.

What about everyone else? Has anyone else got a Plan A and Plan B?

Going to have to go to the lottie whatever the weather...too much to do!
Fingers crossed I can spray for blight and am not too late, although we really should have done it last weekend but it rained non-stop!
Got to take a photo of 3 radish I pulled and left on the plot- one of them is 9" long and about 3" wide Want to enter it in the biggest radish competition!!!
I've also decided we shall start the wet weekend with a BBQ tonight, so I've defrosted a pile of meat and got the brolly ready for the OH!!!!
Oh yes...and I want to make some lemoncello- sounds wonderful!

Everything is plan A for me!

Saturday - Chipstead (Surrey) Flower Show - set up at 9am, demo-ing all day collapse in evening!

Sunday - St Swithun's Day - pray for no rain! Parade Sunday, so pray for Brownies to turn up! Then on to belltower BBQ at Alice's Farm in West Wickham and see how many people can cram in the tent when the rain comes hammering down! Try to be home in time for the Sunday chat.

Collapse in corner and wish I worked for a living - I could then go to work for a rest!

Work on Sunday night for me but I will be doing some work for a friend in their garden with Piglette Saturday morning and are off out for a meal in the evening, on Sunday morning a few from our plot site are going to look at Leicesters best plot on another site.

Plan b involves making bug boxes in the shop for hanging about the plots and garden.

              Plan A

Sow everything I can before its too late including kohlrabi which I have always wanted to try. Plus clear broad bean and purple podded pea bed, they both produced a fantastic crop but all good things must end sometime.
Oh and give everything a really good comfrey feed.

              Plan B

Forget all above and snuggle up with children to watch DVD and play board games.

Hoping that the weather will be good - helping with our local car show on Sunday which means Saturday I need to do some baking and polish 2 cars. Also hope to find time to get a bit more garden dug and planted - kale, carrots and kohl rabi. Sow spring cabbage and more dwarf beans. Also must try to get some spuds planted - been trying for a week but haven't gotten it done yet!

If Sunday is dry, I also have to help with moving 2 of our jukeboxes to go to the car show to provide the musical entertainment (secretly hoping it is a wet day)
                Happy Gardening,

Going to a wedding on Saturday night...

Plan A: If fine, plant some late veg, tidy allotment, move heaps of manure

Plan B: If wet, plant some late veg, put new curtains up, veg out!

Weeding, bilberry picking, bit more weeding, sown just about everything I can now and it's a bit late to start on anything else, might harvest my garlic as it's started bolting, but depends if the weather's dry enough and there's a bit of wind to keep the midges off, they have been terrible lately.

A totally non-gardening weekend, as we are attending a sailing regatta in our boat. Force 7 winds forecast - spiffing!

Nicos you've definitely promised us rain now that you've got your BBQ planned!
Plan A- feed plants in garden & empty saucers from under drowning pot plants. Maybe go to Wirral Show.
Plan B- If raining get O.H. to take me shopping somewhere indoors & 'persuade' him to buy me something new. (Well he did forget our anniversary on July 1st & is still trying to make up for it!)
Into every life a little rain must fall.

Plan A if fine - weed everything in site at the Hill, sow turnip, kohl rabi, celariac, pick peas and gooseberries. On Sunday there is a 'working party' - assemble at 10am. No idea what it involves, but sounds like I should be there.
Plan B if wet - all of the above, but in a Cagoule!

Ohh, I like your Plan B! Are you wanting something practical or something frivolous?

I'm trying to "persuade" Mr OWG to let us get another dog...
