This evening feeding everything in the garden, then the OH. Tomorrow there's a hog roast followed by live music at our local, hope it doesnt turn into a soggy hog! Sunday we have OH children for the day so feet up resting in the evening after clearing up the chaos haha!! All you bbq-ing grapes - go for it anyway, its more friendly under a brolly!
Life may not be the party we hoped for but since we're here we might as well dance

Plan A - if its not raining

Go down to lottie, plant a few more veg, do a bit of weeding and finish off my "patio" area.

Plan B - if its raining

Have a lie in then spend a few hours making Earthbabe's Green Tomato Chutney.

The weather forecast for Preston is changeable at the mo so I don't know what I'll be doing tomorrow.

What about everyone else? Has anyone else got a Plan A and Plan B?

Plan A, See to hens then titivate my celeriac bed, just as I was leaving allotment yesterday say the slugs had been at work. Cut grass, weeding and more weeding.
Plan B if rain, retreat to greenhouse to sow more seeds, go and commune with the hens - they've got a roof!

Collect Algerian next door neighbours from hospital where the wife has just had twins! She doesn't speak a word of English, but the twins are beautiful.

Go to allotment, inspect peas - think they're done really so might have them out and dig over the bed. Probably give up on tomatoes and pull them out - they seem to have blight. Put my daughter's blighty tomato plants in black bag - she put them on compost heap today - she didn't know she shouldn't and I didn't like to say - she looked tired!

Pick more French beans, spinach and pull a few more carrots. Maybe water the PS broc she put in a day or two ago - drooping a bit.

Mark essays in the evening, or catch up with writing - WORK!

                        Ps

Forgot to say I must deal with the Carpet Situation. Went to see a friend, saw old carpet for the dump in her garage and begged it off her. Was on the allotment today, carving it up to put down on the paths, when her-in-charge came past and said there was a new EU directive - No Carpets On Allotments because of Dye In The Environment. I didn't say anything.

So after dark, guess what I'll be doing?

Plan A - do some more digging on lottie (still got 2 beds to clear of horse-tail ) on Saturday. Bake cakes etc at home with kids on Sunday for Milly's birthday next week, while OH drives to Plymouth & back to collect his Ma from his nana's.

Plan B - spend as much time as possible re-reading Harry Potter & Half Blood Prince ready for the last book coming out next week...
