And sorry but why do people say BeeNQ when they could just type BnQ or B and Q?

I fully understand why the devils fluid aka Jays Fluid is redacted, having own horses for the last 35 years!

It may be the Devils fluid but it's vital when you have horses

You're too innocent, Sara Its the 4 letter words you wouldn't use in front of your grannie - like the F word. Absolutely nothing to do with the retailer - or how many letters there are in their names.
We change the letters in any way we fancy - as long as we all know what we mean!

I'm sorry also but I just want to ask why? And why and why not and does it make a difference if everyone already knows and why do you keep asking when it's already been explained?

As VC said in #9, we try to avoid free advertising. You type what you fancy at the time, whether it be @ldi of a1di it's up to you.

I am honoured, nobody has EVER called me innocent before! In fact most of my vocabulary consists of four letter words, beginning with a variety of letters.......

I learned most of this horrendous vocabulary from my 70 year old mother, and she continues to surprise me to this day!

Thanks for the clarification on what is acceptable and what is not

Just that I thought it may be some site setting that prevented this.

I'm all clear now and all is good.

Thanks, for some reason there was no like option on your post.

I hope your Mother doesn't join the forum or her posts would be a string of **$#$#**

This is a family forum and unacceptable language will be deleted by the system. We try to keep it clean and friendly/
The Jayes thing is just a mystery and we accept it as that and have a laugh when it happens.

Apologies, I seem have upset you all, judging by the likes on the posts questioning my questions.

I didn't mean to do that, I was genuinely asking.

If someone can PM me in future and tell me to shut up then I will do so!

I personally don't disguise retailers, for several reasons such as
                          • Somebody posted on here (I think it was Kristen) that they were dyslexic and really struggled with these jumbled up names. I wouldn't want to make it hard for them.
                          • I have seen people jumble up names to such an extent that I can struggle to make sense of it
                          • If somebody is posting a retailer's name then it is probably either positive or negative feedback - I don't mind the good retailers getting a nod and people being warned off the rubbish retailers

As far as I know it is not a rule and I choose not to follow but I do think I am in the minority.
Posted on an iPad so apologies for any randomly auto-corrected gobbledegook

I often change the names of retailers.
Its a habit leftover from the days before adblock when certain words appeared in a different colour and had been changed into a hyperlink to a commercial website.

I don't see it much anymore and I've never seen it on this forum but it did used to be very annoying.
When the practice of inserting hyperlinks was common, it was considered good ettiquette to alter the spelling and therefore confuse the bots....and I'm such a luddite that I continue until told to stop!

I'll try to quit the habit now though, having read spamvindaloos comment about the difficulties faced by members with dyslexia.

no no no - you had a genuine question, and it was well worth asking. .

As the others have said, although I might want to mention a retailer - for reasons good or bad - I don't necessarily want the fact that I've have mentioned them to be used by the marketing machine or that retailer (or others), for publicity purposes.

It's like I might be talking to my neighbour on the doorstep about my trip to tescs - good for an offer; bad for customer service, say - BUT that doesn't mean that I want Tesc's publicity machine 'eavedropping' and using what my and my neighbour have chatted about as 'intelligence'*

                              * fat chance of that, mind you.

I just thought it was the 'done thing' not mentioning real names
I like putting Sainsbugs, Lids, BQ, etc
Wouldn't want to be part of any retailers advertisements
